BLG Is Proud To Press For Progress On International Women’s Day

Toronto (March 8, 2018)— Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is proud to celebrate International Women's Day with a short video that showcases women at BLG and highlights how we work together to #PressForProgress. The firm is also hosting a presentation by Ellie Krug in Ottawa entitled:Changed Genders, Changed Perspectivesthat will be broadcast live via videoconference to each office.

As an organization, BLG strives to foster an environment in which everyone carries the responsibility of contributing towards the Firm’s inclusive culture. Establishing formal workplace policies around inclusiveness encourages each employee to be accountable for his or her actions, and the ways in which those actions impact the firm as a whole. BLG’s commitment to gender equality stretches far beyond any one individual.

Laleh Moshiri is National Director, Diversity and Inclusion at BLG and is responsible for supporting, enabling and facilitating the firm's diversity and inclusion agenda for both professional and business services.

BLG is a member of the 30 per cent Club, an organization committed to working towards having 30 per cent of corporate boards and C-suite positions held by women by 2019, as well as a signatory to the Catalyst Accord, a call to action issued by Catalyst for corporate Canada to increase the percentage of women on boards and in executive positions to 30 per cent by 2022. BLG is proud to participate in the Justicia Project of several law societies, in support of the retention and advancement of women lawyers in private practice.
