Ottawa (September 30, 2014) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to be a sponsor of the Ottawa Fury FC and Ottawa 67’s Adopt-A-School program, which gives children who have been recognized for exceptional achievement in either academic study, athletic performance or community service tickets and transportation to attend games at TD Place. On September 28, BLG’s tickets went to students from Queen Elizabeth Public School.

“Recognition for hard work reinforces the importance of accomplishment. This is especially important for children who are learning habits they will carry into adulthood,” said Katherine Cooligan, partner and regional managing partner, Ottawa. “BLG is happy to be part of this partnership that is helping to build the character of children.”

The children who had the opportunity to watch the Ottawa Fury FC play Minnesota United FC were among the first to benefit from the 100 game tickets available through the Adopt-A-School program. BLG’s support will cover two games – one for a FURY FC game and the other for a 67’s game.

The Adopt-A-School Program is a partnership between Ottawa business, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, the Ottawa 67’s and Ottawa Fury FC.  Businesses adopt a school and provide it with tickets and transportation for groups of students to attend games at TD Place.
