Summary Section Content 1Organizations in the energy sector face a complex regulatory landscape involving federal and provincial bodies, and other approval organizations. BLG’s Energy Group can assist you with understanding the complexity of the regulatory process, to help solve challenging problems. We offer a range of experience, which includes transactional experience, litigation skills and an understanding of varying regulatory regimes. Our areas of specialty are oil and gas, and power and electricity. Our Energy Group can advise and represent you before all levels of court; provincial and federal government agencies; and local, provincial, federal and international tribunals. We can assist you with a variety of general business and energy-sector related investments, in Canada and internationally. We can also provide you with government relations services and environmental counselling on all environmental, tax, financing and issues related to the energy industry. We have a great deal of experience advising oil and gas companies, provincial and federally regulated pipeline companies, investor-owned and government-owned electric utilities, major petrochemical companies and service companies that support the sector, in a full range of applications and proceedings. We also assess the environmental and regulatory feasibility of the expansion or modification of major projects. In addition, our Energy Group participates in government task forces and other initiatives designed to address the regulatory relationship between government and industry.
