Jamie Mills, Chantal Saunders and Beverley Moore add unique strength to firm's intellectual property and pharmaceutical litigation practice

Ottawa (February 16, 2010) – Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG), Canada 's largest law firm, is growing its intellectual property practice with three new hires. Jamie Mills, one of Canada's top pharmaceutical litigators, has joined the Ottawa office as a partner. Chantal Saunders and Beverley Moore are also joining the Ottawa office as a partner and an associate respectively.

As a highly regarded member of the legal community, Jamie Mills has been recognized by Intellectual Asset Magazine as one of the top 250 Life Science Patent Litigators worldwide. He has also been recognized by the Ottawa Business Journal as one of Ottawa 's 2004 “Forty Under 40,” an award recognizing business excellence and community giving. He practises in all areas of intellectual property law including patents, trademarks and copyrights, with a focus on litigation, and pharmaceutical patent litigation in particular. Jamie also has significant experience in internet pharmacy issues, pharmaceutical regulatory law, issues relating to subsequent entry biologics, and government relations for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.

Jamie is an advocate before the Trademarks Opposition Board, the Patent Appeal Board, the Federal Courts and the Ontario Courts, and has been a registered patent agent since 1997. “ I'm thrilled to join BLG to help their broad base of clients from across Canada, particularly in the life sciences sector,” said Jamie Mills.

Chantal Saunders specializes in the area of intellectual property, with an emphasis on patent litigation and particularly pharmaceutical litigation. Her practice also involves copyright and trademark infringement litigation, and Access to Information Act matters. She has appeared before the Federal Courts and the Ontario Courts.

Beverley Moore practises in the area of intellectual property law with a focus on pharmaceutical patent litigation. She has appeared before the Federal Courts.
