Executive Summary

Connie has been a law clerk since 1987. She joined the Labour and Employment Group in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in 1997.  Connie’s practice focuses on labour and employment and workers’ compensation.

Connie’s primary responsibilities include:

  • preparing files for examinations for discovery, including preparation of discovery plans and affidavits of documents
  • drafting lists of undertakings, advisements and refusals, liaising with discovery witnesses to answer undertakings, reviewing and organizing answers
  • preparing files for mediation, pre-trial and trial
  • preparing materials for motions, including affidavits, brief of authorities and costs outlines
  • preparing materials for appeal hearings, including appeal books and compendia
  • attending at examination for discovery, human rights hearing and trial to assist lawyers
  • preparing files for Workplace Safety and Insurance Board hearings, including document management
  • conducting research, wrongful dismissal searches and Quicklaw searches
  • liaising with clients, counsel, courts and administrative tribunals
