Executive Summary

Jessica Sheridan is a senior associate in our Ottawa office. Jessica advises on all aspects of commercial real estate law and has experience in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including joint ventures, development, urban regeneration, infrastructure projects, acquisitions, disposals, financing, leasing, and construction. Jessica advises corporations, developers, builders, investors, pension funds, governments, governmental agencies and lenders. Jessica advises clients across a broad range of sectors including retail, leisure, waste, water, transport, forestry and the public sector.

Prior to joining Borden Ladner Gervais, Jessica practiced commercial real estate law in large commercial law firms for over eight years in both England and New Zealand.

Representative Work

  • acts for clients in large and complex due diligence programs for acquisitions, disposals and leasebacks. As examples, she advised on the acquisition of a major corporate entity with approximately 200 property interests, and the creation of a new real estate investment trust. Both transactions included the management and co-ordination of a large project team.
  • advises clients on the acquisition and finance of commercial real estate.
  • advises forestry clients in relation to the acquisition of forestry rights.
  • acts for clients in connection with the redevelopment of brownfield land and historic buildings, including the negotiation of joint ventures.
  • advises retail and investor clients on the development, subdivision, disposal, and leasing of mixed use and multi-level developments. acts for landlords and tenants in the negotiation of agreements to lease and lease. advises clients on the property aspects of infrastructure projects, private finance initiatives and public-private partnership projects
