Stéphane Richer is a litigation partner in the Commercial Litigation Group in our Montréal office. Stéphane sits on the Regional Management Committee and is the Regional Leader of the Real Estate Litigation Group. He also has considerable expertise in the field of extraordinary remedies (injunctions, seizures before judgment and Anton Piller orders), as well as in litigation relating to breach of confidentiality obligations, data protection, cybersecurity and fraud.

In his commercial litigation practice, Stéphane pleads frequently before various courts in Québec as well as certain administrative tribunals. He has gained solid experience in the following fields:

Real Estate Litigation

  • Stéphane advises and represents numerous clients, owners and tenants alike, in litigation relating to commercial leases, real estate law, co-ownerships, acquisitive prescription, municipal law, environmental law and expropriation.

Extraordinary Remedies

  • He has substantial experience with extraordinary remedies and has acted, for either plaintiffs or defendants, in many injunction, seizure before judgment and Anton Piller order proceedings. He also frequently serves as an independent supervising barrister, appointed by the Court, for the enforcement of Anton Piller orders. 

Breach of Confidentiality, Data Protection and Cybersecurity Litigation

  • Stéphane frequently advises and represents businesses in disputes relating to breach of confidentiality obligations, data protection and cybersecurity.
