Locklyn Price is an associate in our Corporate Commercial Litigation and Arbitration Group in our Calgary Office. Locklyn has a general commercial practice with a focus on corporate commercial disputes, civil fraud, interlocutory applications and injunctions, construction and lien disputes, appellate litigation, and insolvency matters.
Locklyn’s corporate commercial practice involves representing clients with respect to a wide array of corporate commercial disputes, including disputes and litigation arising from contracts, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, arbitration agreements, land disputes, condominium corporation bylaws, construction disputes, unpaid invoices, liens, and loans.
He also has extensive experience with interlocutory applications including specific expertise with attachment orders, mareva injunctions, and security for costs applications.
As well, in his bankruptcy and insolvency practice, Locklyn has acted in concert with BLG partners on behalf of receivers, monitors, trustees in bankruptcy, and creditors in receiverships, bankruptcies and restructurings pursuant to the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act.
Locklyn has represented his clients at all levels of court in Canada, including a recent application to the Supreme Court of Canada.
Locklyn is also very involved in BLG’s Pro Bono Program, and through it assisted several parents who were reassessed by the CRA in connection with tuition paid for their learning disabled children to attend a specialized school. He assisted a partner in obtaining the decision Karn v. The Queen, 2013 TCC 78, a helpful precedent for parents across Canada who incur significant costs related to educating children with learning disabilities.
