Brie Mackovic  


Executive Summary

Brie Mackovic is a technical advisor in our Vancouver office. She practices in our Intellectual Property and Technology Group with a focus on patent drafting and patent prosecution of applications in the high tech, electrical, electronics and mechanical fields.

Brie received a B.Sc. with a double major in physics and mathematics from the University of the Fraser Valley. Under a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Graduate Scholarship-Master’s she received a M.Sc. in physics from the University of British Columbia and was awarded a four year doctoral scholarship to pursue Ph.D. studies. Brie’s graduate research was focused in theoretical physics, specializing in quantum communication and condensed matter physics. In particular, she studied on how electrons behave on the quasi one-dimensional material polyacetylene. Her aim was to harness the unique properties of electrons on polyacetylene for the establishment of quantum phenonema such as electron entanglement and electron teleportation.
