Anna Lei drafts and prosecutes patent applications relating to a variety of technical fields, including
mechanical, biological, biochemical, and pharmaceutical inventions. She also advises inventors and
applicants on strategies for seeking patent protection across many jurisdictions, e.g. Canada, U.S.,
China, EPO, Japan and Korea.
Before joining BLG, Anna Lei practiced patent law in China as a lawyer and a patent attorney for many
years, specializing in patent drafting, prosecution, patent invalidation & litigation, cross-border
patent licensing, patent infringement and freedom-to-operate analysis for multinational enterprises,
and PCT document translation.
Anna completed her LL.M. program in International Business Law at Osgoode Hall law school. This educational
experience has expanded her insight into international IP and business law.
Anna can write, speak and read Mandarin fluently, which allows her to easily communicate with Chinese
clients in their native language to resolve their IP related issues.
