Executive Summary

Laurie LeChasseur is a Real Estate Law Clerk in the Commercial Real Estate Department of our Ottawa office. Laurie has more than 25 years of legal experience with over 15 of those years as a law clerk in the area of commercial real estate.

As a senior member of our Commercial Real Estate team, Laurie supports our professionals in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions with a particular emphasis on financings for both borrowers and lenders in Ottawa and other jurisdictions in the Province of Ontario. She frequently assists our other offices with national transactions. Laurie also handles purchase and sale transactions, as well as tax sales and general leasing work. Laurie works together with individual clients, corporations, financial institutions and municipalities, guiding them seamlessly from start to finish through a wide range of real estate related activities. Laurie's responsibilities include reviewing and summarizing title searches, reviewing surveys/reference plans, conducting real property and corporate due diligence, drafting requisitions on title, document preparation, assisting in closing transactions, preparing preliminary and final reports and compiling transaction books. Laurie is familiar with the Registry, Land Titles and Polaris systems of title searching and registration in both the paper-based and electronic land registration systems.
