Vanessa Lapointe is an associate with BLG's Labour and Employment Law Group in Montréal. She represents the interests of companies of all sizes, unionized and non-unionized, in matters ranging from prevention to representation. In particular, she advises employers regarding hiring and dismissals, disciplinary measures, workplace investigations, labour relations and human rights.
Vanessa was previously assigned to the legal department of a large technology and distribution company in the automobile industry and was also seconded on two occasions to a leading Canadian developer and operator of touristic infrastructure. She carried out these assignments under the supervision of an international law firm, where she then completed her articles.
Vanessa holds an LL.B. degree and a Certificate in Criminology from the Université de Montréal, and has also studied Sociology and Hispanic Studies at McGill University. During her legal studies, she held the position of Vice-President of Administrative Affairs at the Université de Montréal, and also represented Canada at the Faculty of Law of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Spain.
Vanessa speaks English and French fluently and has a working knowledge of both Italian and Spanish.
