Daniel Johnson is a senior associate in the Commercial Litigation and Arbitration Group in our Calgary office and is a member of BLG’s Oil and Gas Focus Group. Daniel maintains a general litigation practice, and has experience in securities class actions, energy related litigation, and franchising disputes. Daniel has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta, and has acted in matters before the Federal Court. Daniel also has experience in administrative and regulatory matters, having appeared as counsel before the Alberta Securities Commission and assisted in matters before the Alberta Utilities Commission.
Daniel is co-author, with Michael Marion and Landon Miller, of “The Unsettled Scope and Application of Settlement Privilege in Canada,” published in the 2013 issue of the Annual Review of Civil Litigation. With Michael Massicotte, Daniel is an instructor of the Regulatory Compliance module of the Petroleum Management Diploma program through Lakeland College.
Prior to joining BLG, Daniel completed his articles as Clerk to Justice James Russell of the Federal Court.
