Executive Summary

Laura Day is a senior associate in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, where she practices in the Insurance and Tort Liability Group. Laura is experienced in all facets of litigation. She specializes in municipal, public authority and insurance defence litigation as well as product liability litigation. She has experience in the defence of class actions, commercial litigation, employment law and estate litigation. Laura has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench. While a law student, Laura was an editor of the Windsor Review of Legal and Social Issues.

Representative Work

  • Representing municipalities with respect to all types of liability claims including claims concerning design and maintenance of roadways/sidewalks, design and operation of storm water and sewage systems, occupiers' liability, transportation services, emergency services and general personal injury claims.
  • Advising insurers and defending insureds in property and casualty and automobile claims.
  • Advising and representing manufacturers, distributors and retailers in defence of their products.
