Hugo Babos-Marchand is a member of our Banking and Financial Services and Bankruptcy, Insolvency and
Restructuring groups. His practice focuses primarily on bankruptcy and insolvency law, and also encompasses
banking and commercial law litigation, including extraordinary remedies, shareholders' disputes and
enforcement of foreign judgments.
Hugo regularly acts for various financial institutions, trustees, receivers, corporations and shareholders.
He has represented his clients before all levels of courts in Québec as well as before the Federal
He completed in 2010 a master's degree in law at
McGill University for which he was awarded the Aubrey-Senez Bursary. His master's project dealt with
the incorporation of Norwich orders in Québec judicial law. Hugo also teaches the course on Priorities
and Hypothecs at the École du Barreau du Québec.
