Executive Summary

Melissa Azuelos is a lawyer in the Corporate and Commercial Law team of BLG's Montréal office.

Melissa is now completing a Master's degree in Business Law and International Law at the Université de Montréal. She participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot held in Vienna in April 2014. Her team was awarded a prize for their written submissions. During her undergraduate studies in law, Mélissa's team won the first prize in the Laskin Moot Court Competition in 2012.

Before embarking on her legal studies, Melissa obtained a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Immunology, with a minor in International Development from McGill University. She also served as a student researcher in Neurogenetics at the CHUM Research Centre.

  • Acted for CiToxLAB Group Inc. in connection with its acquisition of AccelLAB Inc.
  • Acted for ProMetic Life Sciences Inc., a Toronto Stock Exchange listed issuer, in connection with the closing of a bought deal public offering of 19,400,000 common shares, conducted through a syndicate of underwriters, for aggregate gross proceeds of $60,140,000 and the concurrent private placement entered into with Structured Alpha LP, for the subscription of 1,921,776 common shares.
  • Was part of the team of legal advisors retained by the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in its purchase of the ATIS Group.
