Katherine is a civil litigator specializing in defence work. She also acts for clients in their capacity as plaintiff, pursuing subrogated claims. Her practice includes aviation law, land transportation, product liability, insurance litigation, construction disputes, municipal defence and occupiers' liability.
She also specializes in both courtroom and written advocacy for both Canadian and international clients. Katherine regularly advises clients on general insurance matters, and helps them navigate the regulatory world in transportation. Additional legal experience and skills include:

- Conducting examinations for discovery/depositions;
- Conducting mediation, settlement negotiation, and conflict resolution;
- Risk assessment and management;
- Legal research and legal writing;

Katherine is also a regular speaker, presenter and author on topics such as aviation law, land transportation, municipal law, civil procedure, and damages recovery.
Prior to becoming a lawyer Katherine became a licensed glider pilot, and a commercial pilot for fixed-wing aircraft. Her previous aviation experience includes working as a flight dispatcher while working towards her multi-IFR and flight instructor rating.
