The Canadian Parliament is now considering Bill C-28 – the Fighting Internet and Wireless Spam Act (FISA) – which was introduced by the Government of Canada on May 25, 2010 with the stated purpose of prohibiting unsolicited commercial email (spam), deterring the most damaging and deceptive forms of online fraud (such as identity theft, phishing, and spyware) and helping to drive spammers out of Canada.
