Any business that deals online with consumers in Ontario should carefully review its contracting processes before detailed new requirements for online contracts become law on July 30, 2005. The Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario) and regulations made under it will be fully in force on July 30, 2005. They apply to various types of consumer contracts, such as time sharing, credit agreements and motor vehicles sales. This bulletin deals only with the provisions that apply to Internet contracts.
