Vancouver (May 16, 2013) — Donald Bird, regional managing partner of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP’s (BLG) Vancouver office and partner in the Financial Services Group, has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (ACCFL). Don, a highly accredited commercial finance lawyer, is amongst only 13 lawyers in Canada to have been awarded this prestigious accolade.

Recognized as a leading lawyer in Canada for banking and financial institutions by the foremost legal rankings publications, Don acts for Canadian financial institutions in connection with their commercial and corporate loans to both public and private borrowers. He is also a member of the Business Council of British Columbia and has been selected by peers for inclusion in the 2013 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada® for Banking & Finance.  Don graduated with an LLB from the University of Toronto.

The ACCFL is comprised of commercial finance lawyers, jurists and academics who have not only demonstrated the requisite integrity, skill and experience to qualify for fellowship, but who have also helped others in the field by sharing their knowledge through teaching, lecturing or published writings.
