Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) LLP's Frank Newbould, Q.C. was appointed a judge of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on October 26, 2006. Frank has had a storied career as one of BLG's top litigators, acting as lead counsel on numerous significant decisions. Since his call to the bar in 1969, Frank has tried cases and appeared at all levels of court, including many cases in the Supreme Court of Canada.

Frank was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1981. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Chartered Arbitrator of the ADR Institute; a member arbitrator of the Canadian Roster of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, a past Director of the Advocate's Society and a past President of the Lawyers’ Club of Toronto. Until his appointment he was also a director of Pacific&Western Bank of Canada and of Cuddy International Corporation. Frank is ranked as a leading lawyer in many directories including Chambers Global, the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers and the Lexpert / American Lawyer Guide to the 500 Leading Lawyers in Canada.
