Molson family regain control of the Montreal Canadiens

On June 22, 2009, it was announced that the Molson family agreed to regain control of the Montreal Canadiens by buying a controlling stake in the legendary hockey team from sports businessman George Gillett for $575 million. Société en Commandite Racine, a limited partnership composed of a number of investors including the Molsons, was the entity that acquired the Canadiens.

André Dufour, Louis Clément and Manon Gauthier of BLG Montreal represented the Fonds de solidarité de la FTQ, one of Société en Commandite Racine's partners, in the acquisition of the Canadiens.
