On November, 30, 2004, QNX Software Systems Ltd., an Ottawa-based software company, was acquired by Harman Canada Co., a subsidiary of Harman International Industries, Inc. for a purchase price of US$138 million. QNX is a world leader in the development of real time operating systems for advanced embedded applications.

QNX and its principals were represented by BLG in Ottawa, with a team that included Jeremy Farr, Kent Howie, Lisa Dwyer Hurteau and Kasim Salim (corporate), Pamela Cross and Janet Kasun (tax), and QNX in-house counsel Michael Michalyshyn and Douglas McIntyre.
