Purpose of Role

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

Everyone at BLG is required to carry out the duties of their role while upholding the important principles of our Respectful Workplace Policy, and treating everyone with respect, regardless of position.  The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Cheque signing runs
  • Bank runs
  • Entering disbursements into CMS
  • Posting of interest to client trust ledgers
  • Processing credit card charges
  • Accounts payable back-up
  • Filing, photocopying, posting cash receipts
  • Other accounting and administrative duties as required

Key Competencies Required

  • Proficient in office software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
  • Experience with Aderant (CMS) or other time and billing systems
  • Accounting experience in a professional services environment considered an asset
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and math skills

Other Requirements

  • High level of accuracy essential
  • Able to carry out internal accounting deliveries
  • Ability to work well as a team
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Able to set own priorities while maintaining flexibility
