Robin is the National Leader of BLG’s Transportation Focus Group and the Toronto Leader of BLG’s Maritime Focus Group. He has extensive experience representing:
- Ship owners and P&I Clubs in matters involving domestic and international shipping
- Airlines and aviation insurers in claims related to casualties, property damage, and passenger rights
- OEMs in the defence of class actions and product liability claims
- Transportation companies in disputes and for loss recovery
Robin is an advocate with experience in complex casualty matters and class actions involving multiple parties and inter-jurisdictional and cross border insurance issues.
In addition to Robin’s court experience, he advises clients on liability and risk management issues, including:

- Contracts
- Liability releases
- Indemnity agreements
- Governance issues
- Labour and employment matters
Robin has received the Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution certificate from the University of Windsor and the Stitt Feld Handy Group.

- Leads the BLG teams defending major OEMs in multi-jurisdictional class actions, including ones involving vehicle emissions, product liability, and consumer protection.
- Successfully defended a Canadian shipowner in an action regarding property damage and personal injury related to a vessel’s wake.
- Led the BLG team assisting a Canadian mining company in establishing a freight forwarding subsidiary to allow it to diversify and strengthen its business.
- Assisted an OEM with its distribution agreement, warranty, and product compliance with Canadian transportation regulations for a new entry into the Canadian market.
