BLG partner elected director of Canada China Business Council

Toronto (January 18, 2018) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce that Subrata Bhattacharjee has been appointed as Director of the Canada China Business Council.

The Canada China Business Council ("CCBC") is a bilateral non-profit organization with six offices in both Canada and China. In addition to its focused and practical services, CCBC acts as a voice for the Canadian business community on issues affecting Canada-China business, trade, and investment. Members represent a wide range of sectors, including financial services, professional services, manufacturing, construction, transportation, oil and gas, natural resources, ICT, public sector, and education.

Mr. Bhattacharjee is the National Vice Chair of BLG’s Competition and Foreign Investment Review Group and has provided foreign investment/national security review and competition law advice on some of 2017’s largest Chinese inbound acquisitions. He has repeatedly been recognized in global and domestic peer and client surveys as one of Canada’s leading lawyers in these areas of expertise. Mr. Bhattacharjee has been actively involved in the Canada-East Asia trade and investment corridor for many years.
