André Dufour Appointed Regional Managing Partner For The Montréal Office Of BLG

John G. Murphy will focus on his Law practice after 11 years as RMP

Montréal (June 28, 2017) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce the appointment of André Dufour as Regional Managing Partner of its Montréal office, effective July 1, 2017.

André Dufour previously acted as the leader of BLG Montréal's Business and Corporate Commercial Group. Over the course of his tenure and career at BLG, André has been involved in a broad range of commercial transactions, with a particular emphasis on cross-border mergers and acquisitions. In his new position, André will be charged with continuing to drive the Montréal office's achievement of its strategic objectives. While assuming the role of Regional Managing Partner, André will maintain his practice, nurture his first class network of international contacts and continue his many professional and community engagements. André is an officer of the International Bar Association and he currently sits on the boards of the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts Foundation, the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Foundation, the Léger Foundation as well as the Compagnie Marie Chouinard.

André succeeds John G. Murphy, who held the position for 11 years. During his mandate as Regional Managing Partner, John strengthened the Montréal office and BLG nationally by emphasizing professionalism, service excellence, teamwork and community involvement. John will continue to act as trusted advisor to some of the firm's top clients and will provide strategic advice in connection with a wide variety of construction matters.
