Lexpert® Celebrates Women in Law
Toronto (June 23, 2017) – Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) congratulates Éloïse Gratton and Michelle Henry on each being honoured with a 2017 Lexpert® Zenith Award, celebrating the advancement of women in the legal profession.
Ms. Gratton, a partner at BLG and National Co-Leader of the Privacy and Data Protection Practice Group, is one of the top privacy and data protection lawyers in Canada. She is a forward-thinker who leverages her understanding of privacy laws to provide practical business solutions to her clients, and is relied upon nationally (by both federal and provincial privacy commissioners, as well as by the federal government) as well as internationally. She holds a doctorate degree in privacy law and has been teaching e-commerce law and privacy and IT law at University of Montreal for several years. She was recently appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the Société québécoise d'information juridique.
Ms. Henry, a partner in the Labour and Employment Group, is an exceptional advocate with extensive experience in advising and representing both private and public sector clients on various employment, human rights, and labour relations matters. She demonstrates her commitment to leadership at BLG as a member of the Student Recruitment Committee, Pro Bono Committee, and as a mentor and Principal to summer and articling students. Michelle is extremely professionally active in the Black legal community, and co-founded the Black Business Law Clinic.
Winners were recognized at a gala event in Toronto on June 22, 2017. Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella, Supreme Court of Canada, was the keynote speaker.
