    • Acted for the debt and equity investors on the financing and acquisition of a Winnipeg based manufacturer and distributor of relay and recorder equipment to the worldwide electrical generation industry.
    • Acted for the debt and equity investors on the financing, acquisition and subsequent sale of a Calgary based company operating two biomass electrical generation facilities in Alberta.
    • Acted for management on the debt and equity financing on the management buy-out of a Calgary based distributor of construction materials to the North American construction industry.
    • Acted for a syndicate of investors in a Calgary based venture capital fund investing in innovative agribusiness technologies.
    • Acted for an Alberta based fund of funds on the formation and funding of three separate venture capital funds investing in clean-tech and information technology companies.
    • Acted for management on the debt and equity financing of a Calgary based enterprise software firm serving the upstream oil & gas and drilling services industries.
    • Represented a major international venture capital firm with respect to a limited partnership investment by Alberta’s principal institutional investor.
    • Acted for Alberta’s primary investor in agribusiness technologies on its investments and the restructuring of its investments in several Alberta based companies.
    • Acted for an Atlanta based investment banking firm on its mandates relative to the tax effective structuring and financing and the acquisition and disposition of several private equity and venture capital financed companies in Western Canada.

    • Acted for various Toronto-based academic and research institutions in establishing spin-off companies for the commercialization of the research undertaken at those institutions.
    • Acted for a Texas based fund in respect of its investment in an entertainment-related company in Vancouver.
